Flight deals - Europe

Western civilization's roots lie in the continent of Europe. Encompassing more than 4 million square miles, Europe stretches from Asia to the Atlantic and from the Arctic to Africa. The great colonial powers of Europe left their mark on much of the rest of the world and the cultural, literary, economic and artistic influence of the continent has been profound.
Travelers to Europe experience a variety of cultures, languages, customs and dress that are unique and varied and yet encompassed in a relatively small geographic scale. The refinement of centuries of culture provides a real window into Western civilization and into the cultural and psychological background of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Flight deals - Asia

In the west, we know Asia as 'the Mysterious East.' Indeed, all of the world's great religions have originated somewhere in the realm of Asia. A visitor from the west soon realizes that the cultural antecedents so familiar from Europe's origins are absent here, and the resulting confluence of sights and sounds wash over the mind like a dream.
The continent`s boarders shift as we contemplate both geography and geo-politics. From the Black Sea in the west to China and Japan in the far east, Asia holds one wonder after the next to experience and see. Its highest point is Mount Everest, rising 8,848 meters (29,028 feet) above sea level. The continent`s lowest point is the Dead Sea, the surface of which is approximately 400 m (1,312 feet) below sea level. Asia`s longest river is China`s four thousand mile Yangtze. Within Asia`s boarders is the vast Caspian Sea, surrounded by several central Asian nations. The sub-continent of India, the vast nation of China, the smaller industrial powers of Japan, South Korea and Thailand all figure into the amazingly complex matrix that is Asia.

Flight deals - Africa

Africa is not a destination - it is a point of origin. The continent holds a very special place in the psyche of the human race, and many of the earliest explorers of Africa found that once they visited, there was no return. The African land mass held them there, captivated by the beauty of its land, the wild jungles and savannahs, and the amazing mix of cultures that have flourished. Underlying the face of modern Africa, beneath the veneer of colonial artifact, is a brief glimpse at the m ost archetypal of human endeavors and imagination - the pyramids, tribes of Zulu and Masai, wild life red in tooth and claw. Today's visitors will often speak of how Africa is in some mysterious way a life-changing experience. At the very least, it is the experience of a lifetime.
Africa is the planet's second largest continent, with 54 countries and more than 11 million square miles of surface area. Its highest point is the snow capped Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, rising some 19,340 feet above sea level. Its longest river is the Nile, which runs more than 4,000 miles from Burundi to Egypt. Lake Victoria, Africa's largest body of water, is surrounded by Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya. The great Sahara Desert forms the northernmost boundaries to the continent, while the untamed waters surrounding South Africa are the original trading route of the former European colonialists with India, Asia and the South Pacific.

Flight deals - Caribbean

The islands of the Caribbean are a long, expansive archipelago defining the border between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Long known as a vacation destination for honeymooners and retirees, a significant eco-tourism movement has opened the Caribbean to a new type of traveler, interested in not only sun and fun, but also in cultural and natural resources.
The indigenous Arawak Indians were the original inhabitants, supplanted by the more aggressive, Caribs, the tribe in place when the first Spanish explorers discovered the islands for westerners. As each island was in turn colonized by a different European country, British, Spanish, Dutch, French or Portuguese, and slavery introduced to farm, original and highly diverse cultures arose. Today, the colorful legacy of that history is alive in the music, art, architecture and language of the Caribbean I slands.

Central America

Flight deals - Central America

Central America is the remarkable bridge of land that links the North and South American continents. Geographically situated as part of North America, Central America's cultural heritage places it geopolitically closer to South America. These mostly sub-tropical and tropical nations have had historically difficult histories, but since the end of the cold war have made amazing strides in developing their tourism infrastructure and today represent some of the best locations for travel in the western hemisphere.
The people of Central America are among the most kind and warm, and typically very friendly and eagerly welcoming to foreigners. The great diversity of culture stems not only from the differing influence of the colonial powers that once occupied the region but also from the varying native peoples that populated the area prior to discovery by European explorers. The extensive Spanish colonial history accounts for the varying American dialects of Spanish the people speak. Belize, a former colony of the United Kingdom speaks predominantly English. In many rural areas, visitors will still hear native Amerindian languages spoken.

South America

Flight deals - South America

South America is a continent of vast expanse, resources and natural beauty. This wild continent, positioned between the Caribbean, the South Pacific, and the South Atlantic Oceans, remains unknown to many travelers, yet holds real treasure for both the intrepid explorer of nature and the lover of great cities. South America is a continent of superlatives: the biggest rainforest, the second longest river, the highest mountain range in the Western Hemisphere, tropics and ice, the world's tal lest waterfall and islands as remote and mysterious as any in the world.
A trip to the countries of South America remains the trip of a lifetime, a journey that will certainly rival any other. Whether to the high plateaus and ruins of Peru, the natural wonders of the Galapagos, or the icy landscapes of Patagonia, soft adventure travelers will never lack for a new holiday here. The ruins of ancient civilizations sit scattered among the jungles and islands of South America, and modern day cities rich in culture and architecture are juxtaposed. The flora and fauna of the g reat Amazon jungle is richer than that of Africa, and many plants and animals remain uncataloged. For those of a more urban inclination the great colonial cities and modern metropolises of South America rival those of Europe.
